‘Definitely’ – Le Tissier: Aston Villa to sign Tyler Dibling to instantly replace star man
Tyler Dibling’s future remains up in the air after Everton had a second offer rejected for the talented winger.
The England Under-19 international featured 38 times for Southampton last season, scoring four and assisting two, but one of the club’s greatest ever stars has pinpointed the ideal move away.
The Saints plummeted back down to the Championship, having been promoted in the 2023/24 campaign, finishing the season with just 12 points.
Interest in the winger is high after some impressive performances in a dismal team, and Everton made two bids for Dibling, with the latest worth in the region of £40million [The Athletic], but Southampton countered by asking for a package worth £50m.

But with the Toffees yet to return for the 19-year-old, his future is currently unclear, although the Saints’ decision to remove him from contact training suggests it is unlikely he will be at St. Mary’s next season.
Tyler Dibling could join Aston Villa
This article contains exclusive comment from former Southampton and England striker Matt Le Tissier.
With a move to the Hill Dickinson off for now, other Premier League sides may be inclined to move for the young Englishman.
Dibling has plenty of interest from sides such as Liverpool and Newcastle, as revealed to Football Insider by Mick Brown.
But Matt Le Tissier has tipped the young winger to make a move to the Midlands and join up with Unai Emery’s side instead.
The former Southampton striker told Football Insider exclusively: “Do you know what, I think Villa might be a decent club for him.

“I think he could go there and not be under immense pressure straight away to go in the team and start making a difference.
“They’ve got a good settled team there, I think they’ll be challenging for the European places.
“It would be a nice club to go and settle in gradually at, and I think that the important bit for him at the moment is for him not to go to a club where the expectations for him are going to be too high, too soon.”
When asked whether Dibling could be an immediate replacement for Morgan Rogers, who is linked with a move away from Villa Park, Le Tissier said: “Yeah, I’d say so. Slightly different players, but kind of similar areas of the pitch they operate in.
“Yeah, he could definitely be one that could slot into that place.”
Aston Villa receive £120m PSR boost
With a move for Dibling potentially on the cards, Emery’s side would have previously struggled to sign the winger.
The Midlands club received a fine from UEFA for failing their financial regulations this summer, and narrowly avoided failing the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR) by selling their women’s team to chairman Nassef Sawiris.

But finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Aston Villa have received a boost of £120m to their PSR calculations, due to the 2022/23 season now falling outside of the current three-year period for calculations.
With slightly more financial manoeuvrability, the Villains could be in a position to pursue a deal for Dibling this summer.
Villa have already shown their ability to spend this summer after agreeing a deal to sign OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand.
