Dejan Kulusevski faces extended spell on Tottenham sidelines after what pundit has seen
Alan Hutton has claimed Richarlison could keep Dejan Kulusevski out of the Tottenham starting XI.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa right-back said Richarlison has proven to Antonio Conte that he deserves to be a regular starter.
The 25-year-old was in the starting lineup for the Lilywhites in their opening Champions League group stage game against Marseille on Wednesday (7 September).
The Brazilian netted both of the London club’s goals in the 2-0 win over the Ligue 1 club.
Kulusevski was on the bench for Antonio Conte’s side and was subbed on for the final 30 minutes of the match.
Richarlison has only started one Premier League game for Spurs to far this season.

He replaced Kulusevski in the starting XI for the first time against Fulham on Saturday (3 September).
When asked if the Tottenham duo will be rotated the most out of Conte’s attacking options, Hutton told Football Insider: “Obviously, unless there’s a massive dip in form.
“There’s no guarantees but you know that [Harry] Kane. When he’s fit, is going to play, so is Son [Heung-min]. I’m sure the goalscoring touch will come back. It’s good to have that competition in certain areas of the pitch.
“Obviously Kulusevski has come in and done brilliantly. Richarlison was a big money signing and that was an opportunity for him and he’s come in and shown exactly what he can do.
“What I like about his performances is that he’s working really hard for the team, he’s not just throwing his arms up. And working for Conte, that’s what you have to do. It’s going to be a good battle I think moving forward between the two of them.“
