Dejan Kulusevski sends cryptic message to Tottenham fans after scare
Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski has taken to social media to send a message to the fans after the Premier League giants were taken to extra time by non-league Tamworth on Sunday (January 12).
The 24-year-old replaced James Maddison as the game went into extra-time, with Tamworth enduring a barrage of Tottenham attacks.
Tamworth started the game brightly, forcing new signing Antonin Kinsky to make a couple of saves in the early stages of the game.
Spurs dominated from there on out, with both Maddison and Timo Werner having a number of chances to give their side a lead, but were ultimately unable to break down Tamworth’s stubborn defence, with the German forward having a header cleared off the line.
Ange Postecoglu scrambles after normal time ended, bringing on Dominic Solanke, Heung-Min Son, and Kulusevski to try to salvage a win.
Tottenham finally made the breakthrough thanks to an own goal from Tamworth midfielder Nathan Tshikuna before the Sweden international got his goal just six minutes later.
Brennan Johnson rounded off the scoring in the 118th minute, securing a place in the FA Cup fourth round for Postecoglu’s side.

The winger has been a key player for Spurs so far this season, starting 22 of his 31 games across all competitions, scoring eight goals, and providing eight assists in his 2175 minutes of action.
Kulusevski took to Instagram after the shaky win over Tamworth to send a cryptic message to the fans, captioning a series of images with a crescent moon emoji.
Spurs will face much tougher opposition in the fourth round, traveling to Unai Emery’s impressive Aston Villa side.
Postecoglu’s attention will return to the Premier League on Wednesday (January 15), however, as they travel across North London to face bitter rivals Arsenal.
