Dembele posts Twitter message after making Craven Cottage return in Tottenham win

By Will Butcher

Mousa Dembele revealed it was “nice to be back” at Craven Cottage after returning with Tottenham to secure a 3-0 win over Fulham.

Harry Kane scored a sublime hat-trick to book Spurs place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, as Championship outfit Fulham were brushed aside by Maurico Pochettino’s men.

Posting on his personal Twitter account after the match, former Fulham ace Dembele thanked the “support of both Tottenham and Fulham fans” after returning to Craven Cottage.

Dembele, 29, made his name with west London side Fulham after signing on at Craven Cottage in the summer of 2010 from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for £5million.

The midfielder made 74 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers, before being snapped up by Spurs two years after putting pen to paper with Fulham.

The Belgium international started on the bench and was a 78th minute substitute for academy product Harry Winks, as the north London outfit strolled into the last eight of the FA Cup.

Spurs now face another London rival in the next round, as they play host to rivals Millwall with the quarter finals set to be played between March 10 and March 13.

Dembele is now expected to feature for the third time in the space of a week against Belgian side Gent on Thursday, as Spurs look to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the first leg of their Europa League tie.
