Dermot Desmond has been under heavy criticism this season for his handling of Celtic.

Robertson had been on their radar in the winter window, but the signing did not go through.

Now, as long as Spurs stay in the Premier League, the Scotland captain could seal a deal to move to the club.

However, this would be a disaster for both Celtic and Desmond. There is absolutely no reason why the club cannot attract Robertson back to Scotland.

The Hoops could easily be in the Champions League next season, and the full-back clearly has an affinity for Celtic.

Therefore, if he chooses to go to Spurs, the club have clearly not done enough to convince him that the project is right.

This would be another massive failure for Desmond, as the addition of Robertson in the squad would be massive, as the full-back has both the experience and quality to completely change the team.

What positions are Celtic set to target in the summer?

The hierarchy feels that the squad has been left weak in that area after some key injuries this season.
