Gary Neville stunned as Erling Haaland opens scoring for Man City vs Arsenal

Man City got off to a strong start against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, with Erling Haaland scoring after just nine minutes.

The 25-year-old swept the ball past David Raya at the end of a neat, counter-attacking move from Guardiola’s side.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event on 21 September, Gary Neville said: “Absolutely amazing, a proper goal.

“When Haaland first came to City, you did not see this type of goal. This run, it is devastating and it was just if (Tijjani) Reijnders saw him, then the inevitable, it is wonderful from Halaand.

“Haaland is the best.”

Erling Haaland continues his remarkable run

In recent seasons, Haaland has deservedly established a reputation as one of the best strikers in the world, having previously fired Man City to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, the Norway international’s goal against Arsenal marked his 10th in four games for club and country, largely because he notched five in a World Cup qualifier against Moldova on 9 September.

Just five days later, the 25-year-old inspired Man City to their 3-0 win over Man United by scoring a brace after Phil Foden opened the scoring via a header.

Guardiola’s men have a major task on their hands in beating defending Premier League champions Liverpool to the title this term, especially after the Reds utilised the transfer market to significantly bolster their ranks.

Furthermore, the Etihad Stadium club have already lost twice in the Premier League this season, thanks to their successive losses to Tottenham and Brighton.
