Dewsbury-Hall breaks his silence over bizarre yellow card in Everton defeat to Liverpool
Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sent his response after receiving a controversial yellow card in the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.
Everton lost to Liverpool at Anfield after a blistering start from the hosts, with Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike both netting in the first half.
The Toffees had pulled one goal back with Idrissa Gueye’s stunning strike that flew past Alisson, but the side were unable to find a leveller despite pushing late on.
As is often the case with derbies, the contest came with multiple controversial decisions. Ex-PGMOL chief Keith Hackett claims Darren England should have given more added time, with just three minutes added at the end of the second half.
Another contentious decision included Dewsbury-Hall, and the midfielder has shared his first response after the incident and loss to Liverpool.

A decision that has caused debate is when Dewsbury-Hall was given a yellow card for taking a free-kick too soon quickly the referee’s whistle during the derby.
The midfielder posted a message on Instagram in the following days, with a caption that read: “ Let’s not talk about that yellow”, with a shocked face emoji.
Jack Grealish had also been booked after the game, as he questioned the referee’s decision. He told TNT Sports in his post-match interview: “It was a bit frustrating really, they were trying to slow the game down – I’ve never seen anyone in my life get booked for taking a quick free-kick.”
Dewsbury-Hall had joined Everton from Chelsea in the summer transfer window and has already made an instant impact.
He has scored and assisted in his first five games for the club, but is now on four yellow cards, meaning he will be suspended if he picks up another caution.

Everton eye Sergio Reguilon amid injury blow
Despite the strong start from their summer signings, the Toffees could be active in the transfer market again.
Football Insider revealed Sergio Reguilon could return to the Premier League, with Everton looking at possible free agents. The Spaniard had left Spurs in the summer after his contract expired and is eyeing a return to England.
Vitalii Mykolenko and Adam Aznou have picked up knocks already this season, and with James Garner playing as an emergency option at left-back, Reguilon could provide much-needed squad depth.
