By Amir Mir

Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Aaron Tshibola will come back into contention for Aston Villa’s next Championship clash against Newcastle.

Midfielder Tshibola, 21 has been absent for the Italian through injury since the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on August 16.

Di Matteo has since picked Ashley Westwood, Mile Jedinak and Gary Gardner in the middle of the park as Villa have registered four draws and one loss.

The ex-Schalke and Chelsea confirmed after the stalemate with Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon that Tshibola will be ready for the clash with Newcastle at Villa Park.

“He’s ready,” Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail. “He hasn’t got enough minutes in his legs. He’s available for selection.”

Prior to Tshibola’s injury, the midfielder had featured in all three Championship fixtures for Di Matteo’s side, starting in the club’s previous win against Rotherham on August 13.

Tshibola signed for the Midlands giants from Championship rivals Reading during the summer transfer window penning a four-year contract with the club.

Villa will now turn their attention to Rafa Benitez’ Newcastle side who sit in third place with 15 points having picked up five consecutive wins prior to their 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
