Di Matteo gives his verdict on Aston Villa goal hero Tshibola
By Dominic Toner
Roberto Di Matteo has revealed that he has huge faith in Aaron Tshibola.
The Aston Villa midfielder scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Saturday in the Championship.
Tshibola, 21, headed an 88th minute goal to earn Villa a point after he had been introduced as a substitute.
The central midfielder moved to Villa Park in the summer from Reading and scored his first goal for the club against Newcastle.
He has been absent with a groin strain injury for large parts of the season but marked his return to the side with a crucial goal.
Villa manager Di Matteo has said that he is fully aware of Tshibola’s ability and trusts him as a player, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“We know his qualities,” he said. “He missed out a while with injury. He is certainly a player we have faith in.”

Tshibola played a combined number of 40 senior matches during his spells with Reading and Hartlepool, with the youngster now keen to continue his development at Villa.
His new side have struggled at the beginning of the new season and are 17th in table, after picking up just one win in their opening nine league games.
He will now hope to earn a starting position in Villa’s midfield and help them climb up the table.
In other Aston Villa team news, Stan Collymore would be happy for the club to finish in this position.
