Diogo Dalot sends message to Manchester United teammates amid Andre Onana row
Diogo Dalot appeared to back Ruben Amorim and Andre Onana on social media following Manchester United’s draw in the Europa League.
Onana was at fault for both of the goals which Manchester United conceded on the night, a day after former player Nemanja Matic has called him “one of the worst goalkeepers” in the club’s history.
The 29-year-old failed to deal with a free-kick in the first-half, parrying the effort into his own net, before spilling the ball to Rayan Cherki seconds before the final whistle.
However, Amorim was quick to defend his goalkeeper after the match claiming that he has “made more mistakes” this campaign than Onana.
Now, Dalot is the latest United player to send a message of support to Onana and his coach, by posting a message on social media.

Ruben Amorim needs to finish the season strongly
Football Insider Verdict
The 40-year-old coach must have thought his side had won it when Bruno Fernandes‘ perfect chipped cross was met by the head of Joshua Zirkzee, with just minutes remaining.
Amorim’s men had already battled back for being a goal behind, after Onana was unable to tip Thiago Almada’s free-kick around the post.
To draw in that fashion would have been frustrating, but Amorim took the correct approach in trying to deflect from Onana’s mistakes in the post-match press conference.
However, now is the time to start learning from these mistakes he’s made and finish the season in the best possibly circumstances.
It would be unacceptable for the club to finish 13th in the Premier League while not winning any silverware, therefore Amorim needs to rally his players again after the disappointment of the first-leg.
