‘Diogo Jota has played his last Liverpool match’ – fans explode at Sky journalist’s update
Liverpool fans believe Arne Slot is ready to sell Diogo Jota after the forward was completely absent from their game against Brighton.
The Reds’ post-title slump stretched to three games at the Amex Stadium on Monday as Slot’s side were twice pegged back by Brighton and eventually lost 3-2, thanks to Jack Hinshelwood’s 85th-minute goal.
Slot made four changes from the Reds’ 2-2 draw with Arsenal the week prior, as Federico Chiesa started up front to finally make his full Premier League debut for Liverpool and led the line in Luis Diaz’s place.
Both of Liverpool’s first-half goals came from midfielders Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai, with frequent starters Jota Alexis Mac Allister left out of the squad entirely for the trip to the south coast.

Liverpool exit mooted for Diogo Jota after Slot decision
Liverpool‘s forward line is set to undergo several changes this summer with Darwin Nunez seemingly bound for the exit door at Anfield, as speculation continues to grow for several members of the squad.
Jota has started 22 of his 36 Reds appearances in all competitions this term, but has only played from the off in one of Liverpool’s last four games and was left out despite no known injury against Brighton.
Player | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists | Games Missed |
Diogo Jota | 36 | 22 | 9 | 4 | 18 |
Furthermore, after Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are in no rush to offer Jota a new contract in March, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that “enquiries” have now been made for him.
Both Jota and Luis Diaz could be up for sale at Anfield this summer as Saudi Pro League clubs monitor Nunez’s progress ahead of a protracted move, and it remains to be seen which of the three will stay put.

A summer move is absolutely possible. There have also been enquiries for Diogo #Jota and Luis #Diaz. #LFC

Liverpool fans react to Jota transfer update – ‘he’s a priority exit’
As Liverpool monitor the likes of Harry Kane as their new number nine ahead of the summer transfer window, fans aplenty are ready to see an upgrade at Anfield on the likes of Nunez and Jota in particular.
Liverpool aren’t likely to stand in Jota’s way should a suitable bid be made this summer, and supporters agree that “it’s time to move on” for the Portuguese forward after “Slot said he wants an overhaul”.
Some fans argued that Jota should be a “priority exit” and that their final-day clash with Crystal Palace could be the final game for him and several other players, albeit Wolves fans would be more than happy to see Jota make a return to Molineux.
Please take Jota, I love him but it’s time to move on brother. I hope I’m wrong 😭

Chiesa looks so much better than Jota and Nunez 😂. It can’t have taken this long to figure it out 🤦🏾♂️

Slot says he wants an overhaul. Liverpool absolutely need this with Nunez and one of Jota/Diaz off.

Elliot took his chance today. Tsimikas, Nunez, Jota, Quansah, Jones and Gomez are all probably leaving this summer.

Anything on Jota leaving? Have seen nothing about him. He needs to be a priority exit.

I think Jota, Nunez, Tskimas and Maybe Harvey will be leaving us. I don’t want Elliott to go though..

If chiesa played as many games as Jota u would see how good he is

Could literally be 7/8 players last ever Liverpool game.

Elliott, Trent, Kelleher, Tsimikas, Nunez, Jota/Diaz, Gomez could all be gone after Sunday plus maybe more.
