Diogo Jota: Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Liverpool claim after injury update
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp “will be praying” Diogo Jota recovers quickly from injury, according to Kevin Phillips.
The ex-Sunderland and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said it would be a major blow for the Reds to lose a player as prolific as the 25-year-old for a significant period.
Jota missed Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Norwich City on Saturday with an ankle problem sustained at Inter Milan.

Speaking to club media after the victory (19 February), Jurgen Klopp revealed the Portugal international’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
However, Klopp did not provide a timeline for Jota’s return.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Jota’s injury, Phillips said: “I’m a huge fan of Jota.
“He’s an unbelievable player and he will only get better and better. He makes the game look so easy at times. That is what world-class players do and he’s certainly turning into one of those. He looks so comfortable at Liverpool.
“Klopp will be praying that he’s not out for a while because he has been scoring so many goals for them. It would be a blow if he’s out, there’s no doubt about it.
“As I always say though, it provides an opportunity for someone else.”

Speaking on Jota, Klopp said: “We really don’t know 100 per cent.
“With Diogo, it looks a little bit better than we first thought.”
