Djed Spence and Manor Solomon react to Wilfried Gnonto’s Leeds message
Willy Gnonto worked his way back into Daniel Farke’s side this season and had a heartfelt message to Leeds United supporters after their promotion was sealed.
Leeds confirmed their return to the Premier League following a dominant 6-0 win over Stoke City, with Burnley’s victory against Sheffield United helping to secure automatic promotion.
There could be even more to celebrate soon, with Farke’s side fighting for the title, level on 94 points with Burnley and just goal difference separating the two teams.
Gnonto has played a crucial role in Leeds’ promotion push, scoring in the win over Stoke and delivering a standout performance against Swansea last month.
While his minutes have been more limited this season, often rotated with in-form wingers like Dan James and Manor Solomon, his impact hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Despite not being a guaranteed starter, Gnonto still had a message for the fans following the club’s Premier League return, showing his appreciation for their support throughout the campaign.
Willy Gnonto shares message with Leeds United fans amid transfer speculation
The winger shared a series of celebration snaps from during and after the match on Instagram, accompanied by a clear message: “WE ARE GOING HOME.”
He received plenty of responses from teammates, with Solomon calling him “Star Boy” and Joel Piroe jokingly replying, “My minion.”
Former Leeds players also showed support, with Tottenham duo Djed Spence and Archie Gray among those liking the post.
Despite the celebratory mood, the winger’s future at Elland Road remains uncertain. Gnonto was heavily linked with a move away in the January window, with interest from Saudi Arabia.
The Italian international has played a more rotational role this season, starting 24 Championship games and contributing seven goals and five assists. However, speculation over his future continues, and with Everton having shown interest in Gnonto last summer, the Premier League side could revive their pursuit.

Leeds target George Hirst in summer transfer after Premier League return
Following their promotion back to the Premier League, Leeds are already exploring ways to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.
Football Insider revealed that Ipswich striker George Hirst is on Leeds’ radar as a potential addition to their front line.
Ipswich, however, are keen to tie Hirst down to a new deal in an effort to fend off interest from both Leeds and Burnley.
Regardless of how the Hirst situation develops, it’s likely that adding a new forward will be one of the club’s main priorities this summer, as they look to hit the ground running in the top flight following a two-year absence.
