Djed Spence set for Tottenham ‘downward spiral’ after journalist’s update – expert
Alan Hutton is worried Djed Spence is facing a “downward spiral” at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back has urged Antonio Conte to give Spence game time or send him on loan.
The 22-year-old has made just four appearances for the Lilywhites since his arrival from Middlesbrough in the summer totalling just 28 minutes of playing time.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in his CaughtOffside column (28 November), the right-back was brought in as a player for the future rather than the present.
Spurs are said to be convinced the youngster will be a great investment for the future of the club and Conte is believed to be meeting with the Tottenham board to decide his next steps.
Hutton claimed Spence is ready to be given a chance at Spurs.
“It can affect somebody’s confidence and that can put you on a downward spiral which is not ideal for anyone,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he is a fantastic player, I think he has a lot to give now. I saw a little glimpse of him against Nottingham Forest and he was running, trying to make things happen.
“The enthusiasm is there. When you look at Antonio Conte’s options, [Matt] Doherty and Emerson Royal, I do not think they have been setting the heather alight. So I do not understand why he is not getting a bigger opportunity.

“If Conte is deciding at this moment in time that he is for the future then let him go out and play games. Let him go and build himself up, his confidence and show the manager what he is missing out on.
“But I believe he has definitely got something to give at this moment in time. But Conte sees him day in day out and if he thinks he is not ready then that is his choice.“
In other news, according to sources, Tottenham attacker has arrived at new club after being told to quit.
