Djed Spence speaks out at Tottenham after Ange Postecoglou move
Djed Spence has spoken out after making his first start for Tottenham in their 5-0 thrashing of Southampton.
The full-back joined Spurs back in the summer of 2022, when he signed from Middlesbrough in a deal worth up to £20million (The Guardian).
However, he found it hard to establish himself in North London, managing just eight appearances all of which were from the bench while also being loaned out to the likes of Rennes, Leeds United and Genoa.
Spence though, was finally handed his first Tottenham start by Ange Postecoglou in that emphatic win at St Mary’s on Sunday (15 December), and it seems he is now keen to build on that.
Taking to social media to reflect on his outing against the Saints, the 24-year-old wrote: “HUNGRY FOR MORE”.

It was an excellent night for Spence on his first start for the club, with the right-back wasting no time in making an impact.
Within the first minute of the game he had produced an excellent assist for James Maddison, who would go on to net the fifth goal of the game as well, to open the scoring for Spurs.
That laid the foundations for Spence to produce a solid performance in helping Tottenham to an emphatic win.
After such a frustrating time with the club prior to this, it will surely have been a welcome sensation for the 24-year-old to be a part of that success.
Having done well during that game, he should also be confident that Postecoglou will be willing to use him again if needed.
It would be no surprise if he was, given Tottenham will have to manage their squad while competing in multiple competitions in what remains of the season.
This therefore, could go down as a breakthrough moment for Spence in his Spurs career, when not long ago it looked like being over.
