‘Do better’ – Kris Boyd rages at ‘sleeping’ Tottenham ace after what he did vs Bodo/Glimt

Kris Boyd was frustrated with one of Thomas Frank’s stars in particular following an early incident between Bodo/Glimt and Tottenham.

Tottenham drew 1-1 with Wolves before jetting out to Norway for their Champions League tie on Tuesday, 30 September, and supporters were arriving with huge expectations.

Frank has already eclipsed Ange Postecoglou following his final few weeks in charge, with Spurs currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table after six matches – a far cry from last season.

And while rumours have started of a Tottenham return for Harry Kane, Richarlison has continued to lead the line this season, with the Brazilian remaining fit for the opening stages of the 2025-26 campaign.

Richarlison misses clear chance to open the scoring vs Bodo/Glimt

It was the striker, however, who was questioned by Boyd for his alertness in the first half against Bodo/Glimt after missing what should have been a pretty simple chance for a player in his form.

“Bergvall fires a ball across, Alisanee, the centre-back, should do better, but a striker should be switched on,” he said live on Sky Sports News (30 September, 8:11pm).

“Expect the centre-back to miss it, because that’s exactly what happened. But Richarlison was sleeping and gave up the chance because of that.”

He has only scored against Burnley and Brighton so far this season, with several blanks in the Premier League, so supporters are growing frustrated by him.

Tottenham desperately need Harry Kane to return next summer

Football Insider understands that Tottenham are plotting to re-sign Kane, and the Spurs manager has made no secret of his admiration for the record-breaking Bayern Munich striker.

While Frank has Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani available to him, neither has done enough to convince the fan base, even if the former has three goals this season.

Kane, on the other hand, has notched over 100 goals since moving to Germany, and no player has been able to fill his shoes in North London, not even Dominic Solanke after his £65million move from Bournemouth.

The match could have been made much easier had Richarlison hit the back of the net early in the game, but after avoiding a scare, Bodo/Glimt were massively dangerous throughout the first half.
