Dom Szoboszlai sends message to Milos Kerkez with ‘Liverpool deal progressing well’

Dominik Szoboszlai sent Milos Kerkez a show of support following a standout performance, despite ongoing speculation linking the left-back with a move to Liverpool.

Bournemouth boosted their hopes of securing European football next season with a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, completing a league double over Mikel Arteta’s side.

Declan Rice gave Arsenal the lead, but the Cherries responded in the second half with goals from Dean Huijsen and Evanilson.

Kerkez played a crucial role for Bournemouth in the victory, effectively nullifying Bukayo Saka and helping to secure a massive three points for his team.

Despite his growing influence on the south coast, he has been heavily linked with an exit from Bournemouth. Football Insider revealed that Kerkez is keen on leaving Bournemouth this summer, with Liverpool maintaining strong interest in the 21-year-old.

The defender, however, appeared unfazed by the transfer rumours, sharing a message on social media reaffirming his commitment to the final stretch of the season.

Despite ongoing speculation over his future, Kerkez shared a defiant message on Instagram following Bournemouth’s win over Arsenal, posting: “We believe.”

Szoboszlai quickly added fuel to the transfer rumours by replying in support of his Hungary teammate with: “We do” followed by a heart emoji.

Other Bournemouth players also chimed in, with Dean Huijsen reacting with a fire emoji and Justin Kluivert calling Kerkez a “[Star] BOY” along with a star emoji.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Szoboszlai is playing a “key role” in Liverpool’s efforts to bring Kerkez to Anfield, with a deal said to be “progressing well”.

The close friendship and regular public interaction between the Hungarian internationals appear to be strengthening the Reds’ position as frontrunners for the highly-rated left-back.

Football Insider first reported in December that Kerkez had been identified as one of Liverpool’s top options to eventually succeed Andy Robertson, amid growing doubts over the Scot’s long-term form.

Bournemouth braced for Dean Huijsen exit amid Premier League interest

While Andoni Iraola has transformed Bournemouth into surprise contenders for European football, their success has inevitably drawn attention to their standout performers.

In addition to Kerkez, Liverpool are also in the race to sign Huijsen. The defender has impressed with his composure and physicality at the heart of the defence.

However, they face stiff competition from Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid as the battle heats up for one of Europe’s most promising young centre-backs.
