Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fiancé hits out at Sean Dyche after Everton axe

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fiance has hit out at Sean Dyche after he was benched for their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday (December 29).

The 27-year-old lost his starting place to Armando Broja as Everton fell into 16th, just three points above the relegation zone.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for the visitors after just 15 minutes before Morgan Gibbs-White secured all three points for Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying side.

Everton are now without a win in their last four Premier League games, although they have managed to earn valuable draws against Arsenal, Man City, and Chelsea.

Dyche’s side have the joint fifth-best defensive record in the Premier League, alongside Man United, conceding 24 goals in 18 games.

Everton’s struggles have come in front of goal, however, scoring just 15, the second-lowest with only bottom-placed Southampton scoring fewer with 12.

The striker hasn’t scored in his last 14 appearances, starting 16 of his 18 games, scoring two goals, and providing one assist in 1331 minutes of action.

Sandra Jerze, Calvert-Lewin’s fiancé, was clearly unhappy to see the striker fall to the bench, taking to Instagram to respond to a post that said: “They said DCL on the bench… well he is, and he was against Man U as well.”

Jerze responded: “I didn’t say it but Freddy he did he said it,” in a sly dig at Everton boss Dyche for his team selection.

Everton will travel to in-form Bournemouth for their first game of 2025 on Saturday (January 4) as they seek tp start the year with a bang.
