Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez react as Erling Haaland issues Man City update

Liverpool pair Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez have responded Man City striker Erling Haaland after he posted an update on his social media.

Haaland picked up a knee injury during Man City’s recent win over Newcastle, meaning he has missed the club’s last two games.

As a result he was absent as Pep Guardiola‘s side lost 2-0 by Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon (23 February), as Arne Slot’s side extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

That absence has been a significant miss for the current Premier League champions, especially at the time when the striker looked to be rediscovering his top form again.

Now though it seems that Haaland is making progress in his recovery as he targets a return to action, and it appears he even has the support of some of those at Anfield as he look to get back on the pitch.

Man City need Erling Haaland back quickly

Football Insider Verdict

The fact that Haaland already looks to be closing in on a return to action will be a big relief for everyone around the Etihad Stadium.

Man City have badly missed the striker, with Omar Marmoush finding it tough in that role in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in particular.

Having Haaland back will therefore provide Pep Guardiola’s side with their main man in that role, which should help them to pick up some positive results again.

Amid what has been a challenging season for Man City, that will prove to be a welcome boost for all around the club.
