Dominik Szoboszlai, Luis Diaz react to Mohamed Salah announcement at Liverpool

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was the subject of a major new announcement, catching the attention of Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz on social media.

The Egyptian star has already confirmed his future at Anfield for the next two seasons, joining Virgil van Dijk in putting pen to paper on a new deal, much to the excitement of supporters on Merseyside.

It has been an incredible campaign for the 32-year-old, who has notched 33 goals and 23 assists in 51 appearances, but he was still quick to congratulate Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham for their Europa League win.

Despite his record-breaking stats over the last few seasons, the star remains humble when it comes to rival clubs’ achievements, but it was all about Salah on Thursday, 22 May.

Taking to Instagram (22 May), the official club account wrote: “Mo Salah: FWA Footballer of the Year 2025,” following up with another post, which read: “Fully deserved.”

Szoboszlai and Diaz both showed support for their incredibly talented teammate, liking the post, while Sami Hyypia replied with three clapping emojis to the new announcement.

Arne Slot to achieve even more at Anfield next season

Football Insider verdict

New deals for Van Dijk and Salah are huge news for Arne Slot, but the funds needed to secure those contracts likely make the summer transfer window much harder to navigate.

Speaking to Liverpool News 247, Dan Plumley said the Reds are set to “squeeze” Real Madrid for the early exit of Trent Alexander-Arnold, though the star is set to leave on a free transfer.

Andy Robertson has been devastated by Alexander-Arnold’s exit, but the right-back could just be the start of a mass exodus ahead of a summer of change for the Reds.

Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are both expected to depart Anfield once the transfer window opens, and Jeremie Frimpong is already on his way from Bayer Leverkusen.

Caoimhin Kelleher, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Federico Chiesa, and Diaz could all walk through the exit doors, and Slot is expected to make multiple changes if he is to challenge for more than just the Premier League title next season.
