According to other reports, the Algerian international forward was undergoing a medical earlier today which the player failed, leading to concerns that the deal had fallen through.
However, that was reportedly denied by both clubs who said the player had passed his medical.

It also emerged that wantaway forward Aleksandar Mitrovic will also remain at St James’ Park after his proposed loan move to Anderlecht fell through.
Football Insider verdict:
If this is true and a deal has materialised this is great news for the Magpies who have been desperate to see a striker come through the door at St James’ Park. Depending on the reasons behind the failure of the medical, Newcastle have a quality striker on their hands. Goals have been hard to come by this season – Joselu and Perez have not been good enough which is why Rafa Benitez has been searching high and low for reinforcements.
