Donnarumma struggles, Desire Doue sensational – PSG player ratings v Inter

Desire Doue stole the show at the Allianza Arena as PSG thumped Inter 5-0 in the Champions League final.

Simone Inzaghi’s side barely laid a glove on the Ligue 1 champions throughout the game on Saturday, 31 May, with Achraf Hakimi getting the party started after just 12 minutes, though he refused to celebrate.

Doue then scored a brace, one goal in each half, after assisting the opener, before Kvicha Kvaratskhelia rocketed another effort past Yann Sommer, having run at the defence for the entire night.

Inter were already dead and buried, but a whole host of substitutes brought fresh legs onto the pitch for PSG, with Senny Mayulu adding a fifth at just 19 years of age.

Achraf Hakimi gets the party started in the Champions League final

Gianluca Donnarumma – 3

Barely had anything to do in the Champions League final, but when called upon to claim high crosses, he was very unreliable. Despite the performance, it is clear to see why Man City are interested in Donnarumma.

Achraf Hakimi – 8

Got the party started in Germany, showing a sign of real class when not celebrating in front of his former club, though he did pick up a yellow card with nearly the final kick of the game.

Marquinhos – 7

Very little for the defenders to do, at least of any worth, but he could have got in on the goalscoring action after winning two headers in the penalty area.

Willian Pacho – 6

Did extremely well to keep the ball in play before the opening goal was scored, but having committed several fouls and missed duels, the 23-year-old struggled at times.

Desire Doue absolutely sensational for PSG

Nuno Mendes (Off for Hernandez 78′) – 7

A very mature performance from the Portuguese full-back, creating plenty of chances and remaining a rock at the back for PSG.

Joao Neves (Off for Zaire-Emery 84′) – 6

It was difficult to pick out negatives from PSG’s midfield, but with the other two displaying classy performances in the middle of the park, Neves was outshone.

Vitinha – 8

Set up the third goal, created several chances, won tackles. He has come such a long way since his Wolves days, and is only 25 years of age.

Inter suffer shock thrashing at the Allianz Arena

Fabian Ruiz (Off for Mayulu 84′) – 7

Not quite on Vitinha’s level on the night, but was still very impressive. Saw a strike saved, created chances for others, and never missed a beat in the centre of the park.

Desire Doue (Off for Barcola 66′) – 10 – Man of the Match

Absolutely sensational. The only thing missing from his performance was a third goal, having been taken off early. Such an incredible talent, with so much more to come.

Ousmane Dembele – 9

Finished his emphatic season with two assists in the Champions League final. While he was unable to hit the back of the net, his skills and trickery caused so much trouble for Inter.

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia (Off for Ramos 84′) – 9

Topped off his brilliant performance with a late goal. Continued running at the Inter defence for the entire game, getting exactly what he deserved 17 minutes from time.

Substitutes

Bradley Barcola (On for Doue 66′) – 5

Got an assist but was far too greedy in the final third, missing several chances for more goals.

Lucas Hernandez (On for Mendes 78′) – 5

Did very little after coming on to the pitch.

Senny Mayulu (On for Ruiz 84′) – 7

Created an incredible memory by scoring the fifth and final goal of the final.

Goncalo Ramos (On for Kvaratskhelia 84′) – N/A

Warren Zaire-Emery (On for Neves 84′) – N/A
