Donnarumma stunning, Marquinhos poor – PSG player ratings as Arsenal knocked out
PSG secured their place in the Champions League final with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Arsenal in the second leg of their semi final clash.
The French champions came into this match with a 1-0 lead from the first leg following Ousmane Dembele‘s early winner.
They then doubled their advantage shortly before the half-hour mark thanks to a stunning strike on the half-volley by Fabian Ruiz, after Gianluigi Donnarumma’s incredible early work repelled a fast Gunners start.
PSG then missed a huge chance to double their lead when Vitinha saw his penalty saved by David Raya on 69 minutes, only for Achraf Hakimi to extent that lead regardless moments later.
Although Bukayo Saka would pull one back for the Gunners, they were unable to make a full recovery, ensuring the French champions will take on Inter in the final later this month.

Here is how Football Insider rated the performances of the PSG squad in that clash with Arsenal on Wednesday (7 May).
Gianluigi Donnarumma – 9 – Player of the Match
Just like in the first leg, Donnarumma made a number of outstanding saves to keep his side in front in the tie. Has been absolutely vital to this European run.
Achraf Hakimi – 8
A superb strike to make it 2-0 on the night moments after the penalty miss. Another vital contribution at a vital time from the marauding PSG full-back.
Marquinhos – 4
Lost possession too easily for the goal that threatened to give Arsenal a route back into the tie, will be relieved to get away without that happening.

Willian Pacho – 6
A few nervy moments early on but ended up coming through the match relatively comfortably in the end.
Nuno Mendes (off for Ramos, ’88) – 6
Picked up a yellow card early on but managed himself well after that and never really looked at much risk of getting a costly second.
Fabian Ruiz opens the scoring brilliantly
Joao Neves – 7
An good display from the 20-year-old who helped his side to control things in the centre of the park.
Vitinha – 5
Some good midfield play and one excellent run into the area. But the penalty he took was a really poor one.
Fabian Ruiz – 8
A brilliant strike to get the all important opening goal on the night midway through the first half, and remained impressive after that.
PSG attackers have a mixed evening
Bradley Barcola (off for Dembele, ’70) – 5
After Ousmane Dembele’s injury for PSG in the first leg, Barcola came into the starting XI here but struggled to pose the same threat as his teammate.
Desire Doue (off for Hernandez, ’74) – 7
Put in a decent effort to get through some important centre-forward work for his team. The teenager continues to impress.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 8
PSG beat Liverpool to the signing of Kvaratskhelia in January and he showed the importance of that here with an eye-catching performance that gave the Arsenal defence a lot to think about.

Substitutes
Ousmane Dembele (on for Barcola, ’70) – 6
A relief for PSG to see him back quickly after his knock in the first leg.
Lucas Hernandez (on for Doue, ’74) – 5
Struggled to make much of an impression after coming on.
Goncalo Ramos (on for Mendes, ’88) – 6
Off the bench to see out the final few minutes.
