'Don't tell us that' - West Ham fans react on Twitter to David Gold player revelation
By Amir Mir
David Gold has revealed that Michail Antonio will sign a new contract with West Ham – and fans on Twitter are delighted to hear the news about their star player.
The 27-year-old was named the club’s Player of the Year on Tuesday night and co-owner Gold confirmed that Antonio is set to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Antonio is currently out injured and is now set to miss the remainder rest of the season after picking up a hamstring injury during his side’s 1-0 win against Swansea in April.
Here is Gold posting a picture with Antonio on his personal Twitter account:

One fan jokingly stated that in Antonio’s contract there should be a clause that says that he will not be playing at right-back.

Slaven Bilic has unitised the versatile attacker in many roles this term, including right-back, left midfield, right midfield and centre-forward to name few.
Another supporter was clear that West Ham should give Antonio whatever he wants in order for him to extend his contract at the London Stadium.
However, one fan was not pleased that Gold made the revelation on Twitter as he told him ‘Don’t tell us that’ and only inform supporters when the deal is done and dusted.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Hopefully with a "I am not a right back" clause.

Over the course of the season, Antonio has played 37 games in all competitions, scoring nine goals and supplying five assists.
He last scored for the Hammers during his side’s 3-2 Premier League defeat at free-scoring Bournemouth in March.
