Doucoure tipped to cause 'havoc' v Brentford after 'huge boost' for Everton - pundit
Noel Whelan has tipped Abdoulaye Doucoure to cause “havoc” in the Brentford box if he returns to the Everton starting XI on Sunday.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 28-year-old’s return would be a “huge boost” for the Toffees.
Speaking on Thursday (25th November), Rafael Benitez confirmed Doucoure is in contention against the Bees after returning to training this week.
The former Watford midfielder has missed the last four games with a metatarsal injury.
Whelan suggested Doucoure’s “height and power” could torment the Bentford defence on Sunday.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “We know the quality that he brings.

“The quality is even more so now that Rafa Benitez is there. He’s not a holding midfielder anymore, he’s box-to-box.
“He’s got that freedom to get in the box and cause havoc with his height and power. You want him to get forward and score goals and be that all-round midfield player.
“I think the energy and athleticism that he brings, that quality and presence in that central midfield are, will be a huge boost for Everton coming into the game.”
Doucoure scored twice and contributed four assists in eight Premier League games before his injury.
Everton have failed to win without the midfielder in the side, with three defeats and a draw to their names.
They head into Sunday’s clash off the back of a 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
The Toffees will then play host to Liverpool on Wednesday.
