Douglas Luiz could now quit Aston Villa for Premier League ‘rivals’ – pundit
Kevin Campbell has claimed Aston Villa will be open to selling Douglas Luiz to a Premier League rival this summer.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested manager Steven Gerrard may have already lined up a replacement for the 24-year-old.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercato (23 June), Luiz’s agents have met with Serie A champions Milan over a possible move this summer.

The report claims the midfielder is “seriously considering” leaving Aston Villa ahead of the final year of his contract.
The Athletic credited Villa’s Premier League rivals Newcastle with an interest in Luiz in January.
Campbell insisted it will not matter if the Midlands giants let the Brazil star move to a English side.
“He is one of these players that Steven Gerrard may be looking at when he tries to refurbish this squad,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“If Aston Villa are looking at him and thinking that Luiz is someone they want to move him on – it doesn’t matter who they sell him to.
“It has to happen because Gerrard obviously has someone in mind who he wants to bring in.
“You can talk about selling to a rival team, but everyone is a rival in the Premier League.
“Unless you’re looking at selling to the top two or three clubs – everyone is a direct rival.”

Luiz made 34 appearances in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season as Aston Villa finished 14th.
The combative midfielder joined Villa from Man City in 2019 for a reported £15million.
In other news, pundit claims Aston Villa may also sell 2021 signing after £30m update.
