Kieran Dowell admitted that he would consider another loan from Everton if he didn’t feature in the club’s plans for next season.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who has spent the season on loan at Nottingham Forest, was asked whether there was a chance that he could join the Championship side once again next season.
“I’ll see what happens in the summer,” Dowell told the Nottingham Post. “Obviously, if I’m in Everton’s plans then I’d love it, but if not I wouldn’t rule it out.”
The Nottingham Post report that Dowell is likely to have plenty of clubs interested in him during the summer, if the Toffees decide to loan him out once again.
The 20-year-old has featured 42 times for Forest this season and is their top scorer with 10 goals while also supplying a further five assists.
Football Insider verdict:
Dowell is destined to be a Premier League player for many years to come, but the question is, will that be at Everton? He has come on in leaps and bounds at Forest this season, appearing in 37 of their 38 league fixtures and playing a hand in so many of their goals from his playmaker role. Clearly, he doesn’t fancy sitting on the sidelines at Goodison next season when he could be a regular at a Championship club. Dowell is suggesting another loan is an attractive option, and, with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2019, this could mean he will not add to his three senior appearances for his parent club.
