Dundee United vs Aberdeen postponement latest as Met Office issue new weather warning in Scotland
Dundee United’s Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen on Wednesday is under threat of postponement after the Met Office issued a yellow warning for rain in the local area.
United have struggled for form this season and currently sit eighth in the Premiership after a run of four consecutive league defeats.
Aberdeen are just one place and three points above them in the standings right now, and have won only one of their previous eight Premiership fixtures.
Heavy rainfall saw Aberdeen’s home clash against Celtic postponed last week, while United’s Scottish Cup tie against The Spartans at Tannadice Park was also called off for similar reasons on Saturday.
The adverse conditions in Scotland could also claim their fixture against each other on Wednesday after the Met Office’s latest update.

Met Office issue yellow warning for rain in Dundee on Wednesday
Both sides are in real need of wins on Wednesday, but they may not even have the chance to pick up three points based on Tannadice’s recent issues and the upcoming forecast.
The Met Office have issued a new yellow weather warning for rain that runs for the whole 24 hours on Wednesday, with the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen both set to be affected, along with most of Scotland’s south east coast.
Along with the pitch potentially being waterlogged and not fit for playing use, fans can expect delays to travel if using roads or public transport.
Flooding is also possible in affected areas, while power services could even be interrupted too, which in turn, could hinder supporters in getting to the game if it does go ahead.
Are any other midweek Premiership games under threat of postponement?
Aberdeen vs Celtic has now been rearranged for 4 March after it was postponed last week, and the Dons could do without another game being pushed back as they aim to move back up the table quickly.
Hearts beat Dundee United last month and remain top of the table as it stands, but their Edinburgh derby clash against Hibernian on Tuesday night is not expected to be affected by the weather.

Celtic host Livingston on Wednesday, and their match could be affected by the weather, with another yellow rain warning set to cover close to Glasgow on the west coast of Scotland.
Kilmarnock is similarly close to the warning in the west of the country, and their home clash against St. Mirren could well be under threat of postponement as a result.
