Duo have no chance: Tottenham players rated out of ten on possibility of earning England call-up

COMMENT by Amir Mir

Gareth Southgate is set to name his England squad for the up and coming international fixtures with a fair few Tottenham players set to feature.

Here, Football Insider rates the Spurs players out of ten on their chances of getting a call-up to the national set-up.

Harry Kane 0 – Had it not been for his injury then the senior player would have been the first name on Gareth Southgate’s teamsheet. Apart from a miracle recovery, it is highly unlikely he will feature.

Dele Alli 10 – Aside from Kane, the 20-year-old is arguably the best performing English player in the Premier League and he is absolutely certain to earn yet another call-up.

Eric Dier 9 – Despite his up and down form, Southgate is likely to select the versatile defender for the games against Germany and Lithuania. However, it will not be a surprise if he is axed.

Danny Rose 0 – Once again, just like Kane, left-back Rose is in the treatment room, therefore, there is no chance he will be representing the three lions.

Kyle Walker 10 – It would be a major surprise if Walker was not named in Southgate’s squad, especially considering there is hardly any players challenging him for his spot added with his magnificent form.

Harry Winks 2 – Midfielder Winks has been a shining light for the club this season but until he gets more games under his belt, it is likely he will ply his trade for the England Under-21s.

Kieran Trippier 4 – Not enough game time and playing second fiddle to Walker could mean he isn’t selected. However, he has been highly impressive when given the opportunity.
