Early Leeds team news: Twitter picture means mainstay is out of Fulham clash
By Alex Stevens
Luke Ayling will miss Leeds’ Championship clash against Fulham on Tuesday night due to the birth of his baby daughter.
Rumours circulated on social media earlier in the day that the defensive mainstay could be absent for the crucial promotion clash at Craven Cottage.
That was confirmed when Ayling’s partner Poppy Weller shared an image on her personal Twitter account at 6pm on Tuesday of the right-back, 25, cradling his baby in his arms at hospital.
“How I love you both,” wrote Weller to her partner on Twitter as she made it clear that the player will be absent from Leeds’ London clash.

Ayling has been an integral member of Leeds’ promotion-chasing side since his transfer from Bristol City last summer.

He has started 34 consecutive Championship matches and only Rob Green has a better record, with the goalkeeper racking up 35 out of a possible 35 starts in the competition.
Ayling is set to be replaced by fit-again Charlie Taylor against Fulham, with Gaetano Berardi moving across from left-back to his favourite right-back position.
The Whites are sitting in fourth place in the table on 64 points from their 35 matches, eight points ahead of seventh-placed Fulham.
The London club crucially have a game in hand on their rivals, so the game in midweek becomes even more significant.
In other Leeds team news, the club are to pounce and re-sign a 23-year-old after a £10million transfer is all but sealed.
