Early Tottenham team news: Key duo recalled to team for clash against Watford

By Harry Sykes

Victor Wanyama and Hugo Lloris appear to have been recalled to the Tottenham squad for their Premier League clash against Watford on Saturday.

Shirts belonging to the senior Spurs duo were spotted hanging from pegs in the club’s home dressing room at White Hart Lane 90 minutes before kick-off.

Tottenham’s official Snapchat account released an image of the dressing room as final preparations were made for the 12.30pm kick-off.

One eagle-eyed fan noticed that Lloris and Wanyama are set to be named in the matchday squad after missing the 3-1 midweek win against Swansea.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino had revealed at his media conference on Friday that goalkeeper Lloris was a doubt for the match with the illness that forced him out of the clash at the Liberty Stadium.

Midfield kingpin Wanyama also missed the game, the first time he had not been named in the starting XI this season, due to a back injury.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are second in the Premier League and are Chelsea’s only realistic challengers for the title in the final weeks of the season.

Antonio Conte’s team are seven points clear ahead of Saturday matches, in which the leaders travel to Bournemouth.

In other Tottenham team news, the London giants have won the race to sign a 32-goal striker who has taken the league by storm.
