Eberechi Eze ‘open to Tottenham move’ as Crystal Palace exodus begins
Crystal Palace are determined to keep Eberechi Eze at the club beyond the summer transfer window despite growing interest from Tottenham.
That is according to former Tottenham and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old remains a key part of Oliver Glasner’s plans for the future.
Eze is believed to be open to a move to Spurs, but is unlikely to force through a move and will only leave if his £68million release clause is met.
This comes after he scored his first goal for England against Latvia before opening the scoring with a stunning strike in a 3-0 win against Fulham to fire Palace into the FA Cup semi-finals.
The midfielder has been a long-term target for Ange Postecoglou’s side after Football Insider revealed in May 2024 that Tottenham and Man City were watching Eze.
That interest has lingered and a potential deal is being considered once again ahead of the summer transfer window – something Palace are keen to deter.

Crystal Palace plan to keep Eberechi Eze after Tottenham latest
Brown told Football Insider on 27 February that Tottenham want to sign Eze amid uncertainty about the long-term future of Son Heung-min in North London.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the Eagles want to keep their top players at the club.
“I’ve got a lot of admiration for Crystal Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ve recruited well, have a good strong core of players and they get the best out of them.
“But the question now is, how many of those players are Palace going to lose?
“It looks like Marc Guehi will leave, then there’s interest in Wharton, Mateta, Munoz and now Eze.
“In every team, you’ve got somebody a bit special who can produce a bit of magic and win you a game pretty much on their own.
“We talk about Bruno Fernandes at Man United, Marcus Rashford at Villa, Alexander Isak at Newcastle, and at Palace that player is Eze.
“If they can get the ball into him often enough, he can do something nobody else in that side can.
“It’s because of that they’re determined to keep him at the club, he’s a difference maker and they’d miss him if he left the club this summer.
“They want to keep him and I don’t expect he’s the type of player to force through a move unless Palace’s asking price is met.
“Tottenham have been interested for a long time and he’s their type of player.
“If Eze has the opportunity to move to a team like Tottenham, I think he would be open to that, and it’s not slight on Palace and what they’ve done.
“So that move wouldn’t surprise me, but it will only be on Palace’s terms and they want to keep him.”

Angel Gomes update emerges after West Ham bid rejected
As Postecoglou puts plans in place to strengthen his midfield options this summer, Lille star Angel Gomes has been identified as one of their leading targets.
Football Insider revealed on 28 March that Tottenham are now leading the race for Gomes after he opted to turn down West Ham’s contract offer.
Clubs in France, Spain and Germany are also eyeing a potential move as he nears the end of his contract at Lille and is set to become available on a free transfer in June.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham have held talks with Gomes’ agent and are looking to accelerate their deal.
