‘Eberechi Eze to reject Man United offer in favour of joining Liverpool’

Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is expected to turn down a move to Man United this summer in favour of joining Liverpool or Arsenal.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim’s side will be forced to consider other options.

The 26-year-old does not believe a move to Old Trafford would be beneficial for his career and is prepared to be patient and wait for alternative options.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal “would love” to sign Eze this summer as Mikel Arteta wants to add some “X-factor” into his squad.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in Eze, but have concerns about his consistency and whether he would be able to perform regularly enough to make a step up.

Man United are believed to have shared those doubts, but there is a belief that Arne Slot’s side would be better placed to get the best out of him where Amorim would struggle.

Eberechi Eze to reject Man United after scouting missions

Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that United are weighing up whether to sign Eze after keeping an eye on his progress this season.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has claimed the decision may be taken out of their hands as the player is not keen on the move.

His performance at Wembley has certainly done him no harm,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s proved he can do it on the big stage with a lot of pressure and focus on him.

“Is he what Man United need? Are they good enough to get the best out of him? I don’t think so.

“From what I hear, he’s not going to be interested in a move to United.

“He’ll be looking at the evidence of players who have gone before him, he doesn’t want to become another example of what United can do to players.

“A move to Liverpool or Arsenal, who have been interested, would be much better for him.

“If you get good enough players around him, they will provide him with opportunities to do what he’s best at, and that’s being decisive in the final third.

“At a team like Liverpool, they have those players and they can afford to take the rough with the smooth in terms of what they get from him.

“Man United haven’t got that, so he would be an oasis in a desert at Old Trafford.

Viktor Gyokeres update emerges at Old Trafford

As part of ambitious plans to revamp their attacking options, United have been eyeing a number of strikers alongside their creative targets.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 28 April that Man United are confident of signing Viktor Gyokeres and sources say it is “a done deal”.

The 26-year-old goal machine has been the top target at Old Trafford since Amorim’s appointment after they built a strong relationship during their time together at Sporting.

This comes after Football Insider revealed in November that Man United could tempt Gyokeres to sign regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League.
