‘Eberechi Eze to snub Tottenham for Arsenal move’
Thomas Frank could be left heartbroken after Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze was tipped to join Arsenal over Tottenham this summer.
The 26-year-old has quickly become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Bayern Munich are one of the teams interested in the Palace star.
Since arriving from QPR in 2020, the playmaker has notched 40 goals and 29 assists in 167 appearances at Selhurst Park, with 26 of those goal contributions coming last term.
Football Insider understands that Eze is unlikely to make a u-turn on a Palace exit this summer, with both sides of London taking an interest in the transfer-linked midfielder this summer.
He would certainly be leaving with his head held high after helping the Eagles to the FA Cup title against Man City, and Jason Cundy firmly believes he should choose the Emirates Stadium over the Lilywhites.
Eberechi Eze to replace Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal
Speaking on talkSPORT (26 June), Cundy told co-host Jamie O’Hara: “You finished 17th last season. Arsenal, every day of the week, and twice on Sunday,” to which O’Hara replied: “He’s not guaranteed to start [at Arsenal].”
“He’s not guaranteed to play. They’ve got [Gabriel] Martinelli, they’ve got [Leandro] Trossard, [Martin] Odegaard at No.10. If he goes to Spurs, he’ll start week in, week out. Come on, mate.”
Cundy replied: “Eze is better than Martinelli. I’d have Eze over him. You’ve got to back yourself as well.”
Mikel Arteta requires statement signings for the Premier League
Football Insider verdict
Mikel Arteta is running out of time to convince the Arsenal faithful, having not lifted a single piece of major silverware since the FA Cup trophy in the 2019/20 season.
The Gunners have now been Premier League runner-ups in the last three campaigns, losing to Man City twice and Liverpool last term, with few signs of progress on the pitch.
Arne Slot’s side are ready to go again, signing Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, while Pep Guardiola has added Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders to his squad.

The North London team, however, are yet to confirm a first-team signing, with deals close for Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia.
Unsurprisingly, supporters are underwhelmed by these potential new signings, with an out-and-out centre-forward required if the Gunners are to finally win the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
Signing Eze would certainly be a statement to the rest of the league, but fans will be far more interested in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Ollie Watkins, and Benjamin Sesko this summer.
