Ed Sheeran sends message to Ruben Amorim after Man United bust-up
Ed Sheeran has taken to social media to address an awkward moment between himself and new Man United manager Ruben Amorim in their 1-1 draw with Ipswich on Sunday (November 24).
Amorim, 39, had to settle for a draw at Portman Road in his first game as Man United manager with Omari Hutchinson’s deflected effort cancelling out Marcus Rashford’s earlier opener.
Visibly frustrated by his new side’s performance, Amorim prepared to talk with the Sky Sports panel about the game, but Sheeran, 33, intervened.
The musician has a 1.4 per cent stake in Ipswich and was in attendance for one of the newly promoted side’s biggest games of the season.

Man United remain in the bottom half of the table, sitting in 12th with 16 points from their opening 12 games, with any hope of European qualification slipping away.
Clearly in a much better mood than Amorim, Sheeran has apologised for his little faux pas, writing on his Instagram story to say: “Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn’t actually realise he was being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Obvz feel a bit of a b*****d but life goes on. Great game though, congrats on all involved x.”

Amorim will take charge of his first game at Old Trafford in their Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday (November 28).
Their next Premier League game against Everton on Sunday (December 1) could prove to be pivotal as tricky fixtures against Man City and Arsenal await.
In other news, Ruben Amorim can rescue Man United – I saw why it will be different this time.
