Eintracht vs Bayern Munich Preview

At the start of the month, Bayern Munich, claimed their record 6th consecutive Bundesliga title, as their death grip on the league continues. However, since they have clinched their berth, the remaining three Champions League spots are still up for grab. Eintracht are one of the teams in the chase for these three spots as they look to be in their first European competition since the 2013-14 season.

Since Bayern have already clinched the title and been drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League, they will be looking to rest some of their star players such as Hummels, Lewandowski and Thiago. However, they will still have a very strong team with the likes of Sule, Wagner and Tolisso available. Bayern have secured this 6th consecutive title with relative ease, being nearly 20 points ahead of second place.

Eintracht have had a very strong season so far already sitting well above where they finished last season. They have enjoyed a decent performance in the DFK-Pokal as well this season. With such a good season so far, they will hope to be one of the final teams in the Champions League spots, a competition which they have not been in since the 1959-1960 season.

However, this fixture, for which the Bayern vs Frankfurt betting odds have the Munich side as favourites, will have a little more meaning this season then normally, as their manager Niko Kovac, has just signed a contract to take over Bayern in the summer. Eintracht will want to show their supporters and their opponents exactly why their manager is just the right man to take over Bayern Munich. They will also want to give Kovac a good farewell and end the season as high as possible in the league.

With all of this in mind, I think that Eintracht will have a good game but only tie the champions in a 2-2 game. Bayern do not have much to play for but will like to see what their future manager is capable of.
