Exclusive: Player opts to sign for Celtic after PL club accepts bids from two teams
Mohammed Elyounoussi gave the green light to re-signing for Celtic after Southampton had accepted two bids for him.
Football Insider can reveal some of the background into the season-long loan deal that was announced on the Scottish giants’ official media channels last night.
Elyounoussi’s camp have been working on various options for their client in recent weeks, most notably a return to Parkhead and a move to La Liga.

Real Sociedad had a strong interest earlier in the window, but that went quiet before their fellow Spanish top-flight side Real Betis made a move.
Like Celtic, Betis could not afford the £8-10million asking price set by Southampton for a player the signed for £16m two years ago.
Both the interested teams tabled loan bids for Elyounoussi, 25, and both were accepted by the Saints.

It is believed both offers included a loan fee and paying a significant portion of the Norway international’s salary, which is said to be north of £60,000-a-week.
Ralph Hasenhuttl gave the green light for the left winger to leave St Mary’s for another campaign.
So, the decision rested with Elyounoussi: re-sign for Celtic or move to Spain for a new adventure.
Much to the delight of Neil Lennon and Hoops fans who recall what an impact the winger made before suffering a serious foot injury last November, the Moroccan-born star made up his mind to join the tilt at 10-in-a-row.
Elyounoussi is keen to show Celtic supporters how effective he can be across a whole campaign if fully fit and firing.
He made a big early impact in 2019-20, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in 15 games before breaking down and subsequently failed to get an extended run of games before the mid-March lockdown.
In other Celtic news, the club have been tipped by insider to sign Callum McGregor’s best pal.
