Emiliano Martinez threatens Julian Alvarez in new social media message

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez took to social media to poke fun at Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez after his performance in their 1-1 La Liga draw with Real Madrid.

Alvarez, 25, scored a ‘Panenka’ penalty in the draw with Real Madrid before Kylian Mbappe bagged the equaliser just after half-time.

The former Man City forward has impressed since joining the Spanish club in the summer transfer window, starting 28 of his 36 games across all competitions, scoring 17 goals, and providing four assists in his 2308 minutes of action.

City didn’t fare quite as well in their Champions League clash on Tuesday (February 11), falling to a late 3-2 defeat thanks to an added-time goal from Jude Bellingham.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes the Man City fans were partly responsible for the defeat after trying to ‘wind up’ Real Madrid with a pre-match tifo.

The fans seem to believe Ederson was to blame, however, taking to social media to suggest he should move to the Saudi Pro League.

Aston Villa ace Emiliano Martinez turns on Julian Alvarez after penalty antics

Martinez has been key for Villa so far this season, starting all 33 of his games across all competitions, conceding 43 goals, and keeping seven clean sheets in his 2925 minutes of action.

The shot-stopper took to Instagram to respond to Argentina teammate Alvarez after his antics in the draw with Real, saying: “You do that to me and I’ll ruin you,” in reference to the forward’s ‘Panenka.’

Unai Emery’s side had a busy January transfer window, signing Donyell Malen, Andres Garcia permanently, alongside Marcos Asensio, Axel Disasi, and Marcus Rashford on loan.

Fellow Man United loanee Jadon Sancho made his feelings clear regarding Rashford’s exit from the club, responding to his most recent social media message.
