England fans thrilled by Pep Guardiola claim live on Sky Sports
England fans have called for Pep Guardiola to take charge of the team after Lee Hendrie backed the Man City manager for the role.
The former Aston Villa winger told Sky Sports, “I’d love to see Pep in charge of England, I really would. He knows the players, his style of play, I just think that would be an option for me to go and get.”
The 53-year-old manager is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season, and his long-term future remains unclear.
The defending Premier League champions have a contract for the Spaniard should he wish to extend his stay in Manchester, but the decision will ultimately come down to Guardiola himself.
Lee Carsley is currently in charge of the Three Lions, but his interim role will come to an end after the next international break in November.
