Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed that he has been getting advice from Aston Villa captain John Terry.
The 21-year-old stole the show on his international debut on Friday, as England played out an entertaining goalless draw with World Cup holders Germany at Wembley.
The midfielder was awarded man of the match for his display against the world champions and his impressive performance from midfield has not gone unnoticed.
There is now talk that the midfielder, who is on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea, could be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Russia next summer.
With such big exactions comes great pressure, but Loftus-Cheek has revealed that Villa captain Terry has been helping him stay grounded.

“John has been helping me a lot this season. He’s always been supportive of me and will continue to be so,” said Loftus-Cheek, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“I’ve bumped into him a few times and we’ve had a few chats about what it’s like at Aston Villa for him and he’s asking me how I’m doing. He’s always giving me advice.
“John has been telling me that I just have to keep my feet on the ground and keep working.”
Terry knows Loftus-Cheek from his time at Stamford Bridge and the former England captain knows exactly what the youngster is going through.
He progressed from being a bright prospect in Chelsea’s academy to the highest level of the game.
The 36-year-old is currently out injured after breaking a metatarsal in his right foot in the 2-1 Championship defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
