English pundit: Furuhashi is a ‘Celtic great in the making’ and this is why he’s ‘sensational’

Paul Robinson has claimed Kyogo Furuhashi is “a Celtic great in the making”.

The former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the 26-year-old has been the Bhoys’ “best player this season” following his heroics on Sunday.

Furuhashi scored twice as the Hoops came from a goal down to beat Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup final.

As quoted by The Times (20 December), Ange Postecoglou said Celtic and Furuhashi are “a match made in heaven”.

The Hoops boss had particular praise for the Japanese forward’s “incredible” movement and finishing.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Furuhashi’s impact in Glasgow, Robinson said: “Furuhashi has been sensational.

“He has shown all the signs of a Celtic great in the making.

“In all honesty, he has been their best player this season. He has come in and hit the ground running. He’s scored some big goals for them.

“The fans love him. He certainly endeared himself to them at the weekend.

“From what what I have seen of him, I have been very impressed. I have nothing but positive things to say about him. His movement is brilliant, he continually makes clever runs and he’s a good, instinctive finisher.

“What a moment for him to score the winning goals on Sunday. If Celtic are to take Rangers all the way for the title they need to keep him fit and firing.”

In other news, an English pundit has issued a ‘huge’ Celtic board claim as ‘big risk’ pays off.
