Enzo Fernandez and Manuel Ugarte react to Cristian Romero’s Tottenham message
Cristian Romero took to social media following his return from injury as Tottenham drew 2-2 with Bournemouth on Sunday.
Romero has been under serious pressure from Tottenham fans, having been sidelined since December until needing to be fit for the international break with Argentina this month.
The 26-year-old finally made his return to the Spurs starting XI on 9 March, partnering up with Kevin Danso before being replaced by Micky van de Ven on the hour mark.
It was far from the ideal return to the pitch for Romero as Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson helped the visitors to North London take a two-goal lead after 65 minutes.
However, with Pape Sarr netting a long-range effort just two minutes later, Son Heung-min was able to save the Lilywhites with an 84th-minute penalty, saving Ange Postecoglou from embarrassment.

Taking to Instagram [9 March], Romero wrote: “Surely there is a lot to correct and work on, but we are together and eager to reverse this situation. See you on Thursday, we will come back stronger than ever, all together.”
Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez liked the post while Man United’s Manuel Ugarte and Spurs teammate Dominic Solanke also liked his post-match comments, as did Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
Ange Postecoglou cannot be judged until Tottenham stars return
Football Insider Verdict
Postecoglou has faced plenty of pressure from Tottenham fans this season, with his team currently sitting 13th in the Premier League and only the Europa League left to fight for.
Obviously, bringing silverware back to North London at the end of this term would be an incredible feeling for the supporters but it seems unlikely given the team’s unconvincing form.

Postecoglou is still without Ben Davies, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin and Richarlison, but that has only been the tip of the iceberg for the Lilywhites this season as the injury crisis only just alleviates.
Romero, van de Ven, Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario have been sidelined at different parts of the season, and the manager cannot prove himself until he has a full squad at his disposal.
