Enzo Fernandez hits back at Enzo Maresca in new message to Chelsea fans

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has taken to social media to demonstrate his commitment to bulking up after being dropped by Enzo Maresca for not being ‘physical’ enough.

The 23-year-old has been dropped to the bench by his new manager for Chelsea’s last three Premier League games against Liverpool, Newcastle, and Man United.

Speaking after their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday (November 3) Maresca reaffirmed his faith in the World Cup winner and admitted his sympathy regarding his hefty price tag.

“At this moment Enzo is not playing but there is no problem with Enzo. The noise about Enzo is because clubs pay so much money for them, people expect they will always be the best. That is not so.

“The only reason he is not playing is just because the physicality I prefer is from (Moises) Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.”

The news comes after his split from his childhood sweetheart, with his former partner confirming the break-up on social media.

Enzo Fernandez continues to struggle at Chelsea

The central midfielder has failed to live up to the hype since his massive £107million move from Benfica back in January 2023.

According to The Sun, Barcelona and Inter Milan are keeping tabs on his situation at Chelsea but Fernandez is determined to get back into the team.

Fernandez has taken to Instagram to let Chelsea fans know just how hard he is working to become a key player once again with a message that could also be interpreted as a comeback to Maresca’s dig.

With Maresca implementing a two-squad system since joining Chelsea, Fernandez will likely get a chance to impress in their upcoming Europa Conference League game against FC Noah on Thursday (November 7).

Chelsea currently sit top of the new league phase with two wins from their opening two games as they bid to become the first club to win every major European trophy.
