Enzo Fernandez ‘huge fuss’ update at Chelsea as Real Madrid eye star transfer
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez would face a significant fight if he wants to secure a move to Real Madrid in this summer’s transfer window.
The Blues broke the British transfer record to sign the Argentina international from Benfica back in the 2023 January transfer window.
After something of a slow start to his time at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder has become an increasingly important player for the club, slightly more befitting of his £106.8million price tag.
Fernandez has won praise for his performances for Chelsea over the course of the campaign, which has also seen him attract major transfer interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea set out Real Madrid transfer stance
Earlier this season, Football Insider was told that Real Madrid have been monitoring Fernandez ahead of a possible move in the summer transfer window.
According to a new update from The Guardian though, Chelsea are determined to keep the midfielder despite that interest from the Spanish giants.
There is apparently no “panic” within the hierarchy at the Blues about a potential departure for the 24-year-old, and it is said that Fernandez would have to make a “huge fuss” for a move to happen.
So far though, there is reported to be no indication that the 2022 World Cup winner is unhappy at Stamford Bridge.
With seven years left on his contract at Chelsea – securing his future at the club until the summer of 2032 – there are also doubts over whether Madrid have the funds required to complete this deal.

Enzo Fernandez to stay for now
Football Insider Verdict
In the circumstances, it would seem like a surprise if the midfielder were to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
There have apparently been concerns among the agents of some Chelsea players around potential sales when the transfer window reopens.
But given how much they paid for Fernandez, the Blues would surely want a vast fee for him given how important he now is to Enzo Maresca’s side.

That would force any suitors to have to pay over the £100million mark, and meeting those demands while funding other deals would surely be difficult for any club.
Having taken on a senior role by wearing the captain’s armband this season, and the fact that Chelsea will have their sights set on winning more trophies soon, Fernandez may be reluctant to leave as well.
All of that means the lack of concern around Stamford Bridge about a potential departure for the midfielder may well be rather understandable.
