Enzo Maresca confirms Chelsea could be without three of their most important players against Brentford
Enzo Maresca will be thankful Chelsea have such a large squad after he confirmed several of their most important players could miss Saturday’s game against Brentford.
The Blues will travel to Brentford for Saturday’s late Premier League kick off, and although expected to come away with all three points, could find the task made harder.
As well as Cole Palmer still being injured, Maresca has suggested Chelsea could be without another four first team players.

Enzo Maresca not sure on availability of four Chelsea stars
Following the most recent international break, which saw several of Chelsea’s players travel to represent their countries, Maresca now has concerns over the conditions of some of his most important players.
According to the Chelsea boss, there are “question marks” over Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro, Estevao and Andrey Santos; all of whom played for their South American nations earlier this year.
Caicedo missed Ecuador’s game against Paraguay on 5 September but featured for 50 minutes against Argentina before being shown a red card.
Pedro, Estevao and Santos all got minutes during Brazil’s games against Chile (5 September) and Bolivia (10 September).
Possible Chelsea start for Marc Guiu
With questions over Pedro’s full match fitness and Liam Delap out injured, Marc Guiu, who was recalled from his loan move to Sunderland, could be in line to make a rare Chelsea start.
The 19-year-old has only made 16 senior appearances for Chelsea since his move from Barcelona just over 12 months ago.
The young forward does have six goals to his name though, so Maresca will feel intrigued by the possibility of giving the teenager another chance to shine in the Premier League.
As for Caicedo and Estevao, the pair, like Pedro, could still feature against Brentford, but should Maresca opt to rest them, Enzo Fernandez could pair up in midfield with Reece James with Alejandro Garnacho, who left Manchester United in the summer, in line to make his Chelsea debut.
