Erik ten Hag signing is finished at Old Trafford as Man United transfer plans emerge

Man United may see another exit on the cards who was signed under Erik ten Hag after their latest plans may push him out the door.

Man United saw plenty of changes to the side this summer, with the Red Devils signing the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

However, despite the investment, the side have started the season in poor form as they sit 11th in the Premier League, whilst Man United were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town.

Their lack of goals last season was something the club wanted to immediately address in the summer, letting the likes of Antony and Rasmus Hojlund, both signed under Ten Hag, leave the club.

Now, with plans already being put in place for the next transfer window, another player brought to Old Trafford by their former coach could find himself forced out of the side.

Ruben Amorim targets proven striker amid Harry Kane speculation

According to talkSPORT, Man United could be in the forward market yet again for an “experienced” striker.

They added that while Joshua Zirkzee is “appreciated” at the club, Amorim “is in favour” of a proven Premier League striker, which may explain their interest in Ollie Watkins and Harry Kane.

Despite Man United splashing £74 million to sign Sesko, it seems as if they are still addressing the market for someone who has a track record in the league.

This comes after Football Insider revealed Man United’s interest in Kane, as the Englishman has a release clause in his contract that can be activated next summer.

Although the report added that Zirkzee is valued at the club, the striker has yet to start a single game, whilst also playing just 77 minutes of football.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley told Football Insider in August that Man United were open to selling Zirkzee in the summer, although the forward was reluctant to leave and now finds himself behind the likes of Sesko, Cunha and potentially another new striker.

The Dutchman has struggled to hit the ground running ever since his move in 2023, netting just seven times last term.

While former coach Ten Hag might’ve had a plan for the 24-year-old, it appears he is struggling to fit into Amorim’s system, and an exit could be on the horizon.
