Erling Haaland breaks silence on new Man City deal after ‘liking’ post

Man City forward Erling Haaland has made his feelings known about Pep Guardiola’s contract extension at the club.

Football Insider first exclusively revealed the news of Guardiola’s new agreement last Friday (November 15), explaining that a deal between the two parties would soon be announced.

City then announced late on Thursday (November 21) that Guardiola, 53, had signed a contract extension that would keep him at the club until 2027.

Should the Spaniard see out his two-year extension, Guardiola will have remained at the club for over a decade, having joined in 2016.

The news comes as Man City are locked in a dispute with the Premier League regarding their alleged 115 breaches of financial rules and regulations.

If found guilty, City’s punishment could be severe, ranging from a fine to potential exclusion from the Premier League.

Haaland has once again played a key role for City so far this season, scoring 15 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.

According to The Sun, the current champions are willing to break the bank to keep the Norwegian giant at the club and are set to offer a package worth £100million to ward off interest from Real Madrid.

For now, though, he’s glad to see his manager staying at the club, taking to Instagram to like City’s announcement.

Haaland was visibly furious after City’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton in their last Premier League game and will no doubt want to set the record straight against Tottenham on Saturday (November 23).

Guardiola’s side are now five points behind Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the race for the title after losing their last four consecutive games across all competitions.
