Erling Haaland has responded to Jack Grealish’s omission from Manchester City’s Club World Cup squad.

Man City take on Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca in their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, 18 June.

Meanwhile, Grealish endured a lack of game time for Pep Guardiola’s men last term and looks set for the Etihad Stadium exit door.

The England international has no shortage of suitors, though, as Everton are interested in signing Grealish this summer.

Haaland hints he misses Grealish as Man City jet out to Club World Cup

The 29-year-old will hope to see his future resolved soon, while Napoli have eyed a move for Grealish after winning the Serie A title last term.

Meanwhile, Haaland took to his Snapchat story on Thursday, 12 June, as he wrote: “Jack Grealish, where are you?” while sat on an aeroplane.

The Norway international will hope to hit strong goal-scoring form once again as Man City attempt to claim Club World Cup glory.

Everton move could be ideal for Grealish

Previously in his Man City career, Grealish has proven his ability to perform at an elite level and played a key role as Guardiola’s men won the treble in 2022/23.

However, the former Aston Villa man made just seven Premier League starts last season, demonstrating that Guardiola’s men can no longer hand him a starring role.

Therefore, this summer could be the right time for Grealish to join a side whose aspirations are not as lofty as those of the Etihad Stadium side.

Everton could be an ideal destination for the 29-year-old, as David Moyes will be keen to steer the Toffees to a successful first campaign at the Hill Dickinson Stadium following their emotional Goodison Park departure.

If Grealish becomes the star of the show for the Merseyside club and has the kind of freedom he enjoyed in Villa colours, he could play himself back into England contention ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
