Erling Haaland expected to stay at Man City for ‘seven years’ as ‘offer’ suggested – pundit

Paul Robinson has backed Erling Haaland to remain at Man City for ‘seven years’ following comments from the player’s father.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Cityzens can offer Haaland, 22, both the money and success he craves.

Haaland has been a revelation for Man City since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Speaking to France Football, as quoted by DAZN (12 December), Alfie Inge Haaland said his son could stay at the Etihad “for the next 15 years.”

Erling Halaand is said to be “very happy” in Manchester.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the comments, Robinson said: “I cannot see Haaland leaving Man City anytime in the near or distant future.

“His career path looks set there. Real Madrid and Barcelona are not the financial superpowers that they used to be.

“It is not as if Haaland is going to struggle to win trophies at Manchester City. He will be competing for the Champions League and Premier League on a regular basis.

“What reason is there for him to leave? I cannot see any. Where would he go? Man City can offer him the money and the success.

“Perhaps when he has won everything at Man City he may look for a new challenge. You would not bet against him staying at City for the next six or seven years. He looks happy and settled in Manchester.”
