Erling Haaland reacts to Fabrizio Romano message as Rayan Cherki nears Man City move

Erling Haaland has reacted to Fabrizio Romano’s major update on Rayan Cherki’s move from Lyon to Manchester City.

The winger caught the eye when he notched a goal and an assist in France’s dramatic 5-4 defeat to Spain on Thursday, 5 June.

He enjoyed a stellar campaign for Lyon, scoring 12 goals and creating 20 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Pep Guardiola is looking to bolster his ranks ahead of next term, following a somewhat difficult campaign, while Man City close in on signing Cherki.

Haaland reacts as Man City agree Cherki deal

Guardiola’s talismanic striker, Haaland, could heavily benefit from the services of the talented Cherki next season.

Meanwhile, Romano provided an update on Man City’s swoop for the France star via Instagram [9 June] as he revealed: “Here we go! Manchester City agree deal to sign Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyon.

“Cherki will sign five five-year deal as Man City player, OL to receive €35million (£29.5m) package with add-ons as per L’Équipé.”

“Documents being prepared and medical tests booked today in time to have Cherki at the Club World Cup.”

Haaland liked Romano’s post.

Man City could sell Oscar Bobb this summer

After enduring a season in which the Etihad Stadium club fell well below their usual Premier League title-clinching standards, Guardiola must steer his side to successful transfer business this summer.

Cherki could be a good addition for Man City

As well as nearing Cherki’s signature, Man City are close to signing Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, after the midfielder was a shining light in an otherwise underwhelming campaign for the San Siro outfit.

Reijnders could prove to be a top addition for Guardiola’s men, should he adjust to the Premier League, and could effectively operate alongside the likes of Rodri.

Meanwhile, Man City are set to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, after the Algeria international has established a reputation as one of the best attacking full-backs in the Premier League.

Ait-Nouri produced a noteworthy return of four goals and seven assists in 37 top-flight appearances this season and will look to compete with Josko Gvardiol for a starting spot at left-back next season.

But while Guardiola looks to recruit effectively this summer, former Manchester United scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Man City could sell Oscar Bobb this summer.
